There is a growing anticipation that Generative AI can substantially enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of strategic decision-making processes, such as scenario planning and executive offsites. This belief is underpinned by several assumptions:

  • Generative AI’s creative capabilities could introduce novel ideas, thereby circumventing the prevalent ‘groupthink’ phenomenon in teams’ discussions
  • The technology may act as an impartial participant, uncovering biases in agreements and offering diverse perspectives
  • By adopting roles such as ‘Devil’s Advocate’, generative AI could facilitate pre-mortem analyses and other enriching methods that expand viewpoints and foster well-informed decision-making
  • Generative AI could streamline consolidation of meeting outcomes and expedite the information dissemination process


This collaborative session will be a hands-on strategic dialogue between participants to further our collective understanding of how to use Gen AI to change the nature of strategic reflection in organizations. The session will also inform possible research avenues to be executed by Outthinker in partnership with the Wharton School’s Mack Institute.
